Samsung HLT5075S 50-Inch Slim 720p DLP HDTV

I bought the TV about 7 months ago as I was moving into a dorm for college and I needed a new TV. While it is way bigger than I need for a dorm room I figued why not spend the extra money for a bigger TV then spend 150-300 on a little 20inch when I'd be buying a larger TV later when I live in an apartment. At the time this was around 5 and was the best deal out there.

I was wary at first as there are many complants with these kind of systems. However, I have never had a problem with unit. I think it has been more than I expected. While it is a 720 and not 1080 I don't think there is much difference. While I am in a dorm I don't have a normal array of HD channels, but I do get your basic CBS/NBC channels in HD and they look completely crystal clear. I can't make a noticable difference from the 720 to 1080. The only time you can really tell the difference is if your in a store and a 720 is next to a 1080. Since it is a rear projection it is lamp lit and other complained of the lamp light flowing out from the vents in the back. I don't really notice this, even in with all the lights off. If you have it directing against a wall then you can see it, but it's not enough to be bothersome and if you wish can be easily blocked. Only con is the warm up and warm down as it is a bulb light, but it only takes a few seconds. I wouldn't turn it off and on rapidly or leave it on constantly as the bulb will burn out faster. see more best hdtv 1080p

Samsung UN32C4000 32-Inch 720p 60 Hz LED HDTV (Black)

The picture is so vivid you can see makeup lines. Color brilliant. I haven't mastered the sound but I have options. I didn't need technical assistance plugging in the connections. Veiwing is a pleasure. Even the person who delivered the box commented on how lightweight the set was. I often have to do a channel search because the signal gets lost. I've lost local channels. Samsung LNT4042H 40-Inch LCD HDTV

Bought this set last July after 3 months of research. The features that sold me were:

The picture on standard def channels, since I did not plan on paying for digital programming. I hijacked the remote at Sears and flipped back and forth from standard to hi-def on every set they had. While not as clear as my old Sony analog, the clarity is far and above comparable LCD's.

Looks great with my Samsung upconvert DVD player, and the onboard tuner picked up about 20 hi-def channels over my basic cable. The component connections generate a good picture as well. My kids' VHS tapes and Nintendo Wii look great.

The low glare screen has been great, since I mounted the set in a very bright room. The high-gloss black finished can cause some reflection, but a small price to pay for a set that looks this nice.


10 months later, I am still extremely happy with the set. Especially since the price hasn't dropped. Amazon has always treated me well with any purchase, be it 00 or . I was not home for delivery, but my wife said that they were professional and courteous.

Samsung HLT4675S 46-Inch Slim 720p DLP HDTV

Ok. Let's be honest. DLP TVs are GREAT, but NOT perfect. Is any TV really perfect?? I have yet to see cnet give ANY TV a perfect 10/10. So, in my opinion this 720p DLP is GREAT!! I bought from Best Buy for 9.99 on sale and I am using it for my PS3 in my "game room". I looked at the 1080p TVs, too....but MOST PS3 games can only support 720p, so why spend the extra 0-0?? Anyways, I love it. The Samsung truly shines when hooked up thru an HDMI cable and for PS3 it is STUNNING. Just got done playing Hot Shots Out of Bounds for PS3.....WOW. Seriously, for UNDER 0 now this is a STEAL. NON-HD channels look ok, a little grainy, but no big deal.....still looks good.
I have had this TV for about 6 months now and NOT ONE ISSUE. Perfect everytime I turn it on.....yes....it takes about 30 - 60 seconds to "warm up" to full picture quality, but no big deal.....worth the wait.
Right now, I am looking into getting the 56" or 61" Samsung DLP for my living room.
I think Samsung makes a good quality product for the money, if it were "perfect" would it be 0?? No. It would cost 3 or 4 times as much.
I give it a STRONG 8.5/9.0 out of 10.
